Fees
I operate on a sliding scale for all clients. My fee per session starts at $300, and it slides down to $125.
I do not accept insurance, and so all fees are self-pay.
I know that not being able to use insurance can often make services inaccessible. However, not accepting insurance is an intentional choice for many reasons.
First, when using insurance (which, again, I know is often the best route financially, so please do that if that works best for you!), it gives the insurance company a hefty amount of power in your care.
Insurance companies require that I provide a diagnosis, which I don’t agree with, and the companies then dictate how many sessions you should get - sometimes I could argue for more and win, but they also have the power to say no.
Insurance companies should not get to dictate how and when you seek therapy.
Also, anything I would have to provide to insurance companies becomes a part of your permanent medical record, which could be less than ideal for many reasons, most of all that our work is confidential and insurance companies require that I provide confidential information about you in order to justify our time together.
You should get to decide how your therapy happens, not an insurance company.
And, because most people’s insurances are tied directly to their jobs and/or income, the insurance someone has now may not be what they have in a couple of months.
That fluctuation can cause rifts in care, and I want to do what I can to help the support you receive from me to feel continuous and undisrupted by life changes.

I know that self-pay can be challenging. And while I know that this will not make services accessible to everyone, I offer a sliding scale fee structure to all of my clients in an effort to support your ability to come to therapy.
My fee per session starts at $300, and it slides down to $125.
This means that you get to determine what session fee within that range works best for you and your budget.
I do not ask for any income information. I trust you and your autonomy to know yourself and your unique needs and abilities.
I also know that selecting a session fee can be a bit uncomfy! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
And because I know that finances can change quite a bit over time, the session fee can change too, if your budget shifts in either direction.
